"The first time I visited Ad Willemen, now more than fifteen years ago, it was a hot summer day, just a little bit at the shady side of high noon. We sat in the garden behind his work space, and Ad was proud to show me his whisky archives. He was proud of them, not only because of the way Mother Nature kept together these empty bottles, but also because of the fact that they were in every respect 'archives': he had given up drinking, he told me.
